When it works, it is great. Picks up dirt very well, empties itself, whole none yards. The problem is that it just takes to much work on my part, and too much monitoring of it, to keep it actually running.I feel like I should have returned this, when I first got it, but I guess I was too impatient to go through the hassle, and I do regret it now. When I first opened it up, I could not get the vacuum to turn on. It would light up, and make some noise, but never come on. Then it got stuck on, and no matter what I did, I couldn’t turn it off. So, I popped open the battery cover, disconnected it, then plugged it back in. This time it started right up, no problem. So, I went ahead and set it up, thinking the battery unplug had reset whatever was going on.Once I got it set up, I mapped out the house, which is basically just telling it to run and it’ll find it’s way around the house. Once I had a map, breaking it up into rooms, labeling them, and all that was very cumbersome. Seems like there has to be a better way to do that than what they provide. But, I powered through, then set it up to run every day, cleaning a few rooms. This is where the real hassle started.Every once in a while, it would get lost trying to find the base. When this happened, it would wander aimlessly around the house trying to find it. Meaning it would end up in the rooms I didn’t want it to go into, getting stuck on things like the toys and blankets, and who knows what else that my kids left on their floors. I worked with support, and eventually they released a firmware update that was supposed to help with this, but also recommended moving the base to a new location. So, then I just had to completely go through the pain of mapping the house again. Not sure which fixed the issue, but it seemed to stop getting lost.Then every once in a while, it would just not run when scheduled. Once I realized it had not run, I’d check, and in the app, it would say that no map was assigned. The map was there, just not assigned as the current map, and with no map, it can’t run on a schedule, since it won’t know which rooms to clean. So, every few weeks or so, I’d have to re-assign the map.Then (I know, another “then”), the map just got messy. Where I had spit the rooms started to shift on it’s own. Exterior walls of the house were now slanted on the map when really they were straight. Part of my daughter’s bedroom was now showing as part of the hall. The no-go zones I had set up, were now shifted over, and not blocking the right part of the room. So, once again, I remapped the whole house, reconfigured the rooms, etc., etc.That was last week. It then ran fine for a few days, then stopped running. Once again, it showed no map was assigned, so I went into the app, assigned the map, and then tried to run it. It started out, spun around for a few seconds, then stopped, went back to the base with a message saying the map does not match the current environment. I am really not wanting to have to reconfigure the map, yet again, so I reached out to support again. Currently working with them to figure out what is going on. I am sure they will tell me to remap the house (which as stated is a pain), but that’s not a solution to me. Just buying them time until it screws up the map again and then I have to remap yet again. Customer service is easy to work with, but I shouldn’t have to know that from multiple experiences working with them.2 stars since it does well when it works, but can’t rate it any higher with all the hassle it has given me. Spend the extra money, and buy one of the more well known brands, which seem to just work without much effort based upon what friends who own them have told me.
