I got this controller for use with my old phone (Pixel 6 Pro) and while it did work with that, it didn’t fit smoothly, and the angle of the charging port while in the case wasn’t great. However! My new Pixel 8 Pro fits wonderfully and in it’s case! Using it felt just like using a switch controller for push and feel. Only other downside I have for this is, putting your device in is a bit awkward. All in all, I’m enjoying it and would recommend!

I’m a gamer. I have a PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, Switch, iPad, iPhone, Android phone and more. I am testing Luna, a Stadia Founder, Geforce Now Founder and was a beta tester for Project Xcloud. I game on everything and anything I can — I just can’t sit idle and gaming is how I spend that time. So, when I wanted to use my Pixel 3 XL for gaming, I got the Razer Kishi, many iPega controllers, Xbox controller clips, PS4 clips, and more. I did like the Razer, but it always felt like I was about to break my phone since the controllers were attached with a bendable fabric. When the Pixel broke, I grabbed the LG Velvet 5G on sale. The Razer fit the LG but it was much taller than the Pixel and needed too much force to fit the LG and I was in fear of it breaking the phone. I decided to give the GameSir X2 a try and picked up the older model as I didn’t want the full D-Pad.The build quality is impressive. It is extremely solid! There was no flex, like the Razer had. Buttons have a good click and need little force, but enough that you won’t click them acceidentally. Rapid clicks all seem to register well. Joysticks have full motion, with smaller caps. The triggers are also well positioned, but digital. It’s a smaller controller, so probable cramped for larger hands. The controller uses USB Type-C and doesn’t need charging — but no lag like bluetooth controllers. It fit the large LG Velvet well. Due to the way the Type-C port raises to meet the phone, it is much easier to insert the phone than many of the other controllers I’ve used. There is a rubber padding with airflow notches, which gives it a great grip on the phone. It will also fit phones with thin cases, which is a nice surprise. The button layout and triggers are the only things to really consider before purchasing. First, the triggers are digital and aren’t the best for racing games. Digital triggers register being pressed, but not how far they are being pressed, like analog triggers will. Many racing games allow analog triggers to mimic a gas peddle, which these will not do. Second, the buttons use a Switch layout instead of the standard Xbox layout. If you are used to playing a game on the Xbox or PC and move to streaming (like with Stadia or Gefore Now), you need to either remap the controller or relearn the controller. While this isn’t a showstopper for many, it is an issue that needs to be brought up.All-in-all, I am really impressed with this controller. It is more solid on the phone than the Razer, but lacks the analog triggers and has a non-standard layout (at least for customers in the US). If you are okay with that, this is the controller to get. While it doesn’t require any software, there is a software download on their site (and Google Play) that allows touchscreen mapping and firmware updating. I’ve not played with it yet, but downloaded it and will update if I find anything worth adding to the review. If they do come out with a newer version, there are a few changes I’d like to see. 1) An optional grip attachment for larger hands. 2) The L2/R3 triggers having a drop at the end to give them a larger size, so your fingers aren’t so cramped behind the device. 3) Removable buttons so you can change they layout to your style. 4) A Bluetooth 5.x option. 5) Wider stretch, so they could fit a tablet. 6) iOS and Android compatibility.I will be keeping my eye out for new GameSir products. This controller shows that they care about quality products!

Here are my thoughts after testing this unit with Redmagic 6 on games Pubg Mobile and Asphalt 9.Asphalt 9: If you use manual controls, you dont need to get this unit. This unit is effective only for those who want to switch from Touchdrive to Manual control. Highly recommended for new players.PUBG Mobile: If you are a seasoned Veteran, you wont need this device. You are better off with the current screen controls because this unit will mess up your current gameplay for a very long time. Highly recommended for beginners as there is Zero Latency. Same goes for COD Mobile.General review: As a veteran gamer myself, I dont find it much useful other than for Asphalt 9 as im changing from TD to Manual. Product is of good quality and my concern is about the USB C port.. due to frequent use it could damage my phone port or the controller port.

プレイ中に充電もできて快適にプレイできスマホに挿すだけで認識してくれるのでお手軽にできます。スティクは軽いので、精度を求めるゲームは不向きです。ボタンはクリック音はありますが、あまり安っぽさは感じませんでした。

This is an awesome controller. I usually play Xbox and am familiar with that layout, and this controller is the closest I have felt when it comes to mobile gaming. It is super responsive and feels sturdy. I actually purchased the Razer Kishi v1 before trying this, and was extremely unsatisfied with how mushy the buttons and triggers were, as well as how unwieldy it was. My hands felt so fatigued after just a few minutes of holding that controller, not to mention just how cumbersome it was with the whole “deploy” system. I really like how easy this controller is to take on/off as it slides onto the adjustable lightning port and then is tightly clamped in with the other side. There is very little wiggle room and it feels sturdy on the phone, especially compared to the Kishi. The joysticks are another great bonus as they were my initial concern, but they ended up being even better than the Kishi even before putting on the included joystick covers (1 set of concave (Xbox) and 1 set of convex (Playstation)). I heard many people say that they were similar to Switch joysticks, but in my opinion they are more like Xbox and I have both consoles. I think the Backbone sticks resemble the Switch a lot more than this. They are not flimsy, click inward, and have full rotation. The buttons are super responsive and are in no way mushy, which I actually prefer for mobile gaming since you deal with slight latency when playing on streaming services like xCloud, but even then the little I felt was just due to the service itself and not the controller. The triggers do click pretty loudly, but I don’t mind it since they are so responsive. It feels slightly small in the hand (I’m 6’2” with pretty large hands) but is a 100% upgrade from the Kishi. I think the V3 is slightly bigger in terms of ergonomics, but I have not tried it since there is no IOS model yet. The only difference that would make me get the V3 over the V2 would be for that reason, and I know it includes a fan but it only works if you have it plugged in, so you may potentially need 2 wires connected if you want to charge your device at the same time. I have also not experienced any device overheating even after many hours of play (iPhone 11 Pro Max). In terms of charging, this controller actually allows for my device to be charged while using (!) as I noticed the Kishi only allowed my controller to be kept at the same percentage while playing which is a huge bonus for this controller. I would 100% recommend this controller to anyone looking to get into mobile gaming or curious to try out streaming services; sometimes its nice to use when the TV is being used or you just want to play for a little while, or even longer sessions. It also includes a super nice case to place it in when you are done, all for less money than the Kishi. I’m serious, get this controller even over the Backbone or Kishi. You won’t regret it!

I wanted this specifically for playing ps5 streaming to my phone. I tried out multiple games and every one of them worked great. Reminds me of playing on the switch. The controls were very responsive due to not having to go through Bluetooth and they overall felt great. I thought I’d have to map the controls or something but it’s literally plug and play. Great price and don’t see the need for a more expensive accessory unless you are trying to completely mimic a controller for competitive play which I’m not.

This makes playing games on your phone much more easier. Grand son loves it. Will purchase it again.
